Jesus is not God (John 10:30)
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css="" css_animation="none"]
A @Christadelphians Video: Even though Jesus is not God, this passage is often used in an attempt to show that Jesus is God; it is the passage most often quoted by Trinitarians in comments on Gospel Online videos. However, the reality is that it is an expression of the fact that Jesus and God agree with one another.
The context of the passage is about the protection that both Jesus and God wish to extend to those who follow Jesus. God intends to make sure that no-one can take them away from God’s care, and Jesus agrees with this completely. Jesus tells us that he has a God, and that the Father is the only God. These passages show that Jesus is the Son of God, but that he is not God. This video is produced by the Gospel Online project which is arranged and supported by the Christadelphian community in the United Kingdom
# Summary This presentation explores the biblical concept of Jesus as the Good Shepherd, drawing insights from the Old Testament and the Gospel of John. It examines the significance of Jesus' statement "I and the Father are one" and how it relates to the Shepherd's role in caring for and protecting the sheep.
# Highlights 🐑 The Old Testament portrays God as a Shepherd who cares for and protects His people, as seen in Psalm 23 and Ezekiel 34.
🔑 Ezekiel 34 prophesies about a future Shepherd, referred to as "my servant David," who will be appointed by God to feed and care for His sheep - this is a reference to Jesus Christ.
🌍 In the New Testament, Jesus identifies himself as the Good Shepherd who has come to give life abundantly to his sheep (John 10:9-10).
🙏 Jesus' statement "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30) does not mean that he and the Father are the same being, but rather that they are united in purpose and in the way they care for and protect their sheep.
🔒 Just as no one can pluck the sheep from the Father's hand, Jesus says that no one can pluck the sheep from his hand either, indicating the unity of purpose and power between the Father and the Son (John 10:27-29).
🔎 Jesus prays that his followers may be one, just as he and the Father are one, meaning they should be united in mind and purpose, not necessarily as a single entity (John 17:20-21).
🤗 The presentation emphasizes the love and compassion of the Good Shepherd, who gave his life for his sheep (John 10:11).
