Jesus Christ Man of History...not Myth
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css="" css_animation="none"]
A @Christadelphians Video: Many claim that Jesus Christ is a myth and not a real man. The evidence says that, on the contrary, Jesus Christ is a real person and that the accounts of his life are accurate. To answer the question Jesus Christ - man or myth? it is necessary to look at the available evidence. This includes mention in the writings of ancient authors. The New Testament is not a single book, it is a collection of books by eight different writers. Among these are James and Judas, brothers of Jesus (who certainly should have known whether he existed), and Paul who met James the brother of Jesus. The archaeoloical accuracy of the Gospels shows that they are not later inventions, and there are other reasons for supposing that they are reliable accounts. In addition to these we have accounts from various later Christians who had met the Apostles, people like Clement of Rome and Ignatius of Antioch, and we have the writings of various Roman historians (for example: Tacitus, Suetonius and Pliny the younger) who refer to Jesus in their writings as well as second century Jewish writings. There is evidence that Jesus existed, and that the New Testament account of him is reliable. This evidence is overwhelming.
This video is produced by the Gospel Online project which is arranged and supported by the Christadelphian community in the United Kingdom. # Summary This presentation provides evidence that Jesus Christ was a real historical figure, not just a myth, by examining four non-Christian historical sources from within 150 years of his life on Earth.
