1. How readest thou? Why Bible study is important – In this opening session we will look at the necessity to correctly hear what God has said to us. We will see that the Bible is not easily understood, but we must seek to know its depths , to develop a spirit guided mind to grow in wisdom.
2. Correctly approaching God’s Word -In our second study we will note how vital it is to hear exactly what God says, as distinct from human opinion. WE will see the necessity of an enquiring mind, the value of Bible familiarity and the need for correct doctrine as a basis for accurate Bible study.
3. Colouring Key Words -There will be 3 sessions of Bible colouring. This is one of the easiest ways to open up the Bible. We will look at many expels of key words and themes.
4. More colouring Key Words -This sessions will continue with a number of colouring exercises
5. Even More Colouring - This session will focus ways to open a whole Bible book with colours. We will look at Ecclesiastes , and Jeremiah.
6. Translations – Bible Origins -In this session we will look at the origins of the Bible , including source texts and manuscripts. We will look at how translations developed once printing was invented.
7. Translations – Good and bad – Looking at the differing classes of translations and how they differ. Especially we will se that some translations are very biased and how much they interpret rather than translate . Finally we will look at recommended translations
8. Translations - which ones should we use?- This session will explore translator bias and the introduction of pagan theology into translations. There will be an exploration of the devil and satan as an exercise.
9. Chapter Divisions -This session explains why the translators inserted verses, chapters and paragraph markers. We will show how some are very unhelpful and must be challenged. Then we will look at the value of sub-dividing chapters further as a basis for deeper study.
10. Marvellous Margins- a valuable asset- This session will be based on the Oxford edition of the KJV. It will look at how to correctly interpret the margin the translators gave us. It will help us make this a very useful tool in Bible Study.
11. Marvellous Margins - make use of them. The second session will undertake more practical examples of correctly using the valuable KJV margin-tracing people and themes
12. Concordances -tracing original meanings – This session will look at why we need to dig deeper into original meanings and the recommended Concordances. Practical exercises using Strongs will be included.
13. Concordances – how to use them- This session will undertake more practical exercises in using Concordances
14. Concordances – practical exercises- In this session we will demonstrate the value of using Bullinger’s Greek Concordance and also touch on the use of E-Sword.
15. Context – the most vital thing- This session will show how vital interpreting verses in their context really is. We will look at environmental and cultural context.
16. Using your imagination – The first of 3 sessions designed to use the power of visualisation and imagination in opening up a record. Matched with a questioning mind our imagination can uncover vital lessons. We will look at careful reading, places and names and Bible echoes.
17. Imagination- living and feeling the scenario - Using a number of well known stories we will show the power of living the situation and catching the drama. We will use a very powerful example from Jehoshaphat and also look at Jacob’s well.
18. Imagination - exercises -In this third session we will look at a very deep parable and story around King Saul and the signs he was given. The interpretation will lead us to great lessons
19. Bible writing styles- Metaphors, Similes and metonymy- The Bible uses many varied styles of literature and we need to be able to discern the metaphorical and symbolic from the literal. This session explores metaphors, similes and metonymy.
20. Bible styles -Types and shadows -This session will continue the exploration of the varied Bible styles of writing , focussing on Types
21. Bible styles - scintillating symbology – The Bible is full of dramatic and graphic symbols . We need to see how these can be interpreted and how consistent they are traceable through the Bible .
22. Bible styles –powerful parables- Jesus used parables for over a third of his recorded teachings. We need to see how to correctly understand parables and tom discern the main issues apart from the details of the stories used. We will learn 3 golden rules for interpreting parables.
23.
